PEOPLE from across Teesside packed pants at a ‘period party’ to help homeless and destitute women.
Volunteers worked throughout Saturday morning to put together packs of sanitary towels, tampons, toiletries and underwear for women in need.
The ‘period party’, which took place at the ARC in Stockton, saw several women sift through a large quantity of sanitary items donated by members of the public.
At least 65 vulnerable women will benefit from their efforts, with the donations set to be delivered to Stockton charity A Way Out and EVA Women’s Aid, in Redcar.
Organiser Emma Chesworth said: “We had women from all over Teesside come to lend a hand, with many others making donations.
“It has been amazing to see and as a result, we’ve put together enough packs to help at least 65 women and the charities will be very grateful.
“As women we know how unthinkable it is to have to have a period without being able to get easy access to sanitary products.”
