A WOMAN has suffered a serious injury after being attacked by a dog while walking her own in a Middlesbrough park.

The 65-year-old woman and her Staffordshire Bull Terrier called Buster were attacked near to the tennis courts in Pallister Park on Sunday, April 30 at noon.

The victim was walking her dog when another dog broke free from its lead and attacked her and her dog causing injury to both of them.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "The victim suffered a serious injury to her knee and she is being treated at James Cook University Hospital. The dog suffered some puncture wounds and is making good recovery.

"It is believed the dog that attacked them is described as being an American Bulldog which was white and brindle in colour and the owner of this dog is described as being a white female in her 30s."
