SONGS from northern Britain will be at the heart of a new festival.

An all-day event taking place in November will see emerging acts from Teesside and Scotland take to the stage.

North-East band Avalanche Party will headline the inaugural Songs from Northern Britain, taking place at Stockton’s Georgian Theatre and Green Room.

Flying the flag for Teesside at the event will be acts including Plaza, Tom Joshua and Luuna.

Performers The Van Ts, Declan Welsh and the Decadent West and Vistas are among those showcasing Scottish talent at the festival, organised by The Kids are Solid Gold and Tees Music Alliance.

Andy Carr of TKASG said, “We already have exceptionally strong ties with the Scottish music scene and this event will undoubtedly help to strengthen them even further.

“In recent times acts such as Fatherson, White, Washington Irving have made a significant impact here on Teesside and we are now looking to develop networking opportunities for the next generation of exciting Teesside and Scottish acts”

Songs from Northern Britain will take place on Saturday, November 11 and is the first in a twice-yearly series of events.
