A CHARITY which helps families of sick and premature babies has appointed a new chair who sadly lost one of her twin boys within hours of birth.

Lottie King, 28, from Yarm, is the new chair of the Neoangels charity, which supports parents on the neonatal unit at the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton. Her twins Leo and Oska were born 15 weeks premature but heartbreakingly Leo, who was born four days before Oska, lost his fight after several hours.

Neoangels provides families which meal vouchers, petrol vouchers and parking passes as well as helping to equip the unit with medical supplies and equipment.

Former PR account executive Ms King, who is now carer for Oska, has been appointed chair of the charity, to support current ward-based trustees and neonatal nurses Zoe Musgrave, Zoe Joyce and Jodie Jenkins, who joined the charity earlier this year.

The move came after founders Kirsty and Shaun Lowther stood down to focus on their family. They set it up after their twins were cared for on the unit.
