AMERICAN duo Porter-Nickerson, whose new album Bonfire To Ash is released in May, have included a North-East date in their promotional tour.
Porter Nickerson are a pairing who embody the best of what live music has to offer: heart, grit, and the kind of raw musicianship that transforms listeners into long-time fans.
Willy Porter’s searing finger-picking guitar style deftly blends with Carmen Nickerson’s lush vocals to create an unforgettable sound that resonates long after the last chord fades.
Porter, one of the most successful singer-songwriters based in the Milwaukee area, may naturally get lead billing in his new act with singer-songwriter Nickerson. But frequently her shimmering voice seizes the spotlight, most effectively on Living Proof, an inspirational anthem that draws its strengths from everyday heroism. However Ash burns brightest when Porter and Nickerson share their voices and different perspectives of a lonely relationship on Echo of Love.
Porter-Nickerson will perform in Hutton Rudby Village Hall, in Hutton Rudby, near Yarm, on Saturday, May 6. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets £12 on 07981 260861.
