CLEVELAND Police are appealing for information after a group of men targeted a lone elderly woman at a bus stop in Stockton last weekend.

The four approached the 71-year-old woman at a bus stop near to Marks and Spencers on Stockton High Street at around 8.10pm on Saturday, March 11.

They talked to her before one of the gang grabbed her bag and stole £65 from the purse inside.

Another member threatened the woman with violence.

All four then made off in the direction of Maxwell’s Corner, on the town’s Bishopton Lane.

The first suspect is described as a white male, aged in his late 30s, around 6ft 1ins, of medium build with short, black hair and wearing a black and white tracksuit top, black tracksuit bottoms and dark trainers.

The second suspect is described as a white male, aged in his early 20s, around 5ft 7ins tall, of thin build with short, fair hair, a spotty complexion wearing a blue jumper with a blue jumper with white T-shirt underneath, blue jeans and black shoes.

The other two suspects are described as white, aged in their early 20s, around 5ft 6ins tall and of very skinny build.
