A DRIVER who jumped from a moving car during a police chase was taken into custody and was due to be questioned on Saturrday.

Police attempted to stop the Ford Focus on Oxbridge Lane in Stockton on Friday night, but the car drove off into a nearby housing estate.

The driver lost control and jumped out of the vehicle while it was still moving.

The car rolled through a barrier and came to a stop close to the front door of a house.
