POLICE are hunting bogus callers who are believed to have been targeting homes in the Parkfield and Oxbridge areas of Stockton.
Officers are looking for two men who attended addresses in these areas on Wednesday, January 18, claiming to be builders and claiming that roof tiles on properties needed replacing and quoting excessive prices to do the work.
The first incident was reported at 1.30pm on Kilburn Road and the second incident was reported at around 8pm on Bromley Road. No money or work has been exchanged.
Officers would always advise vigilance with cold callers and would suggest asking for identification and if necessary calling the company concerned to verify identification.
Anyone with information regarding the incidents or the suspects is asked to contact Sergeant Jim Allen on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org
