POLICE are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was robbed and attacked with a hammer in Stockton.

The incident occurred at around 1am on Monday, January 2, when the victim was approached by three males whilst walking along Parliament Street at the junction of Ellicott Road and in the direction of Bowesfield Lane.

One of the males threatened the victim with a knife and demanded money from him. Another male then attacked the victim by hitting him over the head with a hammer, which knocked him to the floor.

Whilst the victim was on the floor, money was removed from his pocket and the three suspects made off in the direction of Bowesfield Lane.

The victim was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees where he was treated for minor injuries and was later released.

The first suspect is described as a white male, around 6 ft tall, between 30-35 years old and was wearing a black hooded top, the second male is described as white, around 5 ft 5” tall, aged in his mid-30s and was wearing a black and grey scarf over his face and a blue jacket with the hood up and the final male is described as white and aged in his mid-30s.
