The visits were organised by Drake – The Bookshop in Stockton and saw Tracy Beaker illustrator Mr Sharratt visit Abbey Hill Academy and then St Cuthbert’s Primary School where as well as entertaining children from five other primary schools he also opened the school’s new library.
Mr Sharratt, who recently published “The Cat & the King,” spent the morning talking about his work and how he came to become an illustrator.
He also encouraged the pupils to join in with reading some of his classic books such as Shark in the Park on a Windy Day and Never Use a Knife and Fork
Children from Mill Lane Primary School, St Bede’s Academy, Whinstone Primary and Mandale Mill were able to quiz Mr Sharratt and also leave with a signed copy of his latest books.
