YOUNG shoppers had an out-of-this-world experience when they met up with some of their favourite superheroes.

Stockton’s Wellington Square hosted the visit from an amazing collection of superheroes, including The Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Batman, Superman, Scarlett Witch, Ant-man, Crossbones and Stormtrooper.

And a huge number of shoppers’ children joined in the fun and games when they turned up dressed to fit in with the theme of the day.

There were games and prizes, free face painting, a treasure hunt, thousands of selfies taken, and the superheroes mingled freely with the crowds, which lasted all day.

While the centre’s chosen charity, Daisy Chain, had a stand to raise funds for their work with autistic children.

Centre manager Rob Gildersleeve said, “We wanted to create a big event for the school holidays and this one seems to have hit the mark. The characters are amazing, and hugely popular, and we had people coming to see them from all over the region. We have had amazing feedback, with people on Facebook thanking us for a great day.”
