INDIE legends The Wonder Stuff are celebrating 30 years in the business with a tour to mark the occasion and will be performing an intimate gig in the North-East.

With classic hits, including The Size of a Cow, Welcome to The Cheap Seats and Don't Let Me Down Gently, they will be playing in front of 200 fans in The Georgian Theatre, Stockton at the end of the month.

Guitarist Dan Donnelly, who now lives on Teesside, said: “It's a great year for us as the new album is doing so well and we have a lot of new material to play live. The Georgian Theatre is the kind of venue that the full band never gets to play normally. It will be a unique night for us and for the audience too.

“This is a very special gig for me personally, having moved to Stockton a few years back, it’s now my hometown and base for when I come off the road.

“When The Wonder Stuff play live, we’re normally in venues of 1,000 or more people; so it’s going to be amazing to have the fans this close to us – we’re all really looking forward to it.”

Gig organiser Paul Burns, of Tees Music Alliance, said: “It’s a real coup for us to have a band the size of The Wonder Stuff coming into The Georgian Theatre – and indeed to Stockton – this is going to be a genuinely unique event and one of those ‘were you there moments’ that people will be talking about for a long, long time."

Tickets for the gig on Friday, May 27, cost £20 each and are available online at www.teesmusicalliance.org.uk or through TMA’s box office at Green Dragon Studios either in person or on 01642-606525.
