STUDENTS from a Teesside school have been working with a vocal coach ahead of a production of Guys & Dolls.

Yarm School's theatre will be transformed into the mean streets of New York for its latest production, which opens for a three-night run on February 4.

The musical tells the story of gamblers, gangsters and night club singers in the Big Apple.

A cast of 48 is led by Jessica Adams as Miss Adelaide, Yazdan Qafouri Isfahani as Nathan Detroit, Domonic Ryan as Sky Masterson and Evelyn Jesuraj as the Salvation Army sergeant Sarah Brown.

The cast has been working with American vocal coach Heather Watts to make sure they are pitch perfect. Ms Watts, a native Texan, moved to the UK to study at London’s Royal College of Music.

She has performed in London’s West End in The Phantom of the Opera as well as touring Europe with Diva Opera, and has been helping pupils to refine their New York accents and line delivery.

For tickets visit www.thepaaonline.org or go to Strickland & Holt in Yarm. Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £8 for children for performances which start at 7.30pm on February 4th, 5th and 6th.
