Police are appealing for information after a 50-year-old woman was victim to an attempted robbery as she was trying to flag down a taxi.

The incident occurred outside The Station Hotel on Bishopton Lane in Stockton at 11:50pm on Saturday, November 7.

The victim was approached by a woman who attempted to steal her necklace.

The suspect is described as white, around 20-25-years-old with long dark hair. She was also wearing a long black coat, black jogging bottoms and dark trainers.

At the time of the attempted robbery, an unknown male in a white t-shirt tried to assist the victim, as did the victim’s partner.

Police would like the man in the white t-shirt to come forward as they believe he may be able to assist with enquiries.
