A DRIVER had a lucky escape on Friday morning after veering off the road while avoiding debris in the road.
The Renault Clio ended up in a ditch alongside the A66 at Long Newton, Teesside.
Cleveland and Durham Road Policing Unit tweeted photos from the scene, adding: "Lucky escape this morning as the driver of this vehicle escaped injury when they veered off the road while avoiding debris in the carriageway on the A66 at Long Newton earlier today."
