AN OVERWEIGHT woman jumped on a child’s bike, buckling the frame, after a row broke out in a park.

Police are investigating after the 14-year-old boy’s mother made a complaint that the woman had threatened her son before damaging his bike, during the row at Preston Park in Eaglescliffe, near Stockton, at about 7pm on Saturday.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We had a report of damage to a child’s bike and are investigating.”

She said the complainant claimed the woman had jumped on the bike, buckling the frame, and threatened to get a family member and return to the park.

A post on Facebook by a member of the public said: “A 14-year-old child has had his mountain bike smashed up by an overweight woman with dark greasy hair (tied back) in Preston Park’s play area.

“She also screamed she was going to get her husband and son to come back and kill the child and his friends.”

It was claimed the woman had three children with her and may have been driving a white car.

Police said they had not recorded any threats to kill, but were investigating criminal damage.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
