A LOCAL family with a strong farming background spanning three generations are set to open a new butchers and farm shop in Yarm.

Alan Hutchinson and his son Barry are heading up Hutchinson Hobbs, who describe themselves as a “family run farm shop and butchers who want to bring family values to food.”

The pair are taking on this new project after previously helping to build a thriving farm shop and working on a family farm.

“Our family are very enthusiastic about local food and we want to share our enthusiasm and expertise” they said.

“Whether it is a quick midweek tea, a traditional Sunday roast or a special celebration dinner we aim to supply high quality ingredients and unique products to make your meals extraordinary.”

The farm shop is situated on the site of the Yarm Golf Driving Range and will offer customers the chance to buy a range of products made from local ingredients and suppliers, with some coming from the farm itself.

Hutchinson Hobbs is holding an open day tomorrow (Saturday, May 23) where a taster tent will be running to allow customers to sample various products. Other promotions and offers will also be available on the day.
