A VIDEO filmed in a village hall by a mum at a children’s party showing four dancing ‘superheroes’ from Teesside has become an internet sensation - attracting almost 40 million views.

In just over a week there has been a deluge of requests for the talented performing arts students from as far afield as Australia and America with birthday bookings scheduled in Portugal and Italy.

The entertaining four-minute routine performed to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ catchy ‘Uptown Funk’ at a children’s party at Hart Village Hall near Hartlepool has propelled the cartoon crusaders into the spotlight.

‘Spiderman’ Sam Davies, 17, and ‘Transformer Bumblebee’ Adam Harrison, 20, from Stockton Riverside College showed off their fancy footwork alongside Middlesbrough’s Luke Oldfield, 21, who also attends Stockton Riverside, as Batman and Ellis Miller, 16, from Hartlepool, impersonating Captain America.

The clip shows the four superheroes standing in line and each taking it in turns to impress the audience wearing full fancy dress gear.

Mark Shields, director of Sunderland-based Make My Day Events, which sends entertainers to family events dressed as Disney princesses and superheroes, said the surprise hit footage appealed to adults as well as children.

“A mum posted a video onto her Facebook page and from there it has gone everywhere, in just over a week it is up to almost 40m, it has been crazy," he said.

"My mobile inbox has been full since Thursday and we have been inundated with requests, there have been between 30 and 40 just from America.

“Their routine is designed to get the kids energised and encourage them to dance but we have tapped into something adults seem to like it really like it too.”

Mr Shields added: “The guys have been whisked up by the whole thing and are loving it, everybody wants a piece of them at the moment. Who knows where this will lead but if Ellen DeGeneres wants to give us a call to get them onto her show in Los Angeles then I’m sure we can squeeze it in.”
