A TEENAGER is busy trying to raise £3,000 to enable her to take part in a 'World Challenge' trip of a lifetime to Costa Rica.

Clare Chown, from Stockton, has received the support of the town's Darlington Building Society to help her reach the target.

‘World Challenge’ offers aims to support and facilitate the development of young people through life-changing experiences.

The 16-year-old is busy raising the funds necessary to take part in the project and was delighted when staff at the Stockton branch contributed £150.

She said: “Costa Rica is the trip of a lifetime for me and it could not be made possible without the support of others. World Challenge is a fantastic organisation and turns education in to a life changing experience, I am really looking forward to taking advantage of this amazing opportunity.”

Erin Millar, branch manager, said: “Everybody here is pleased that we could aid Claire on her trip of a lifetime. I am certain that this will be an amazing experience for Claire and will something that she remembers for a long time."
