TEESSIDE High School is hosting the BBC flagship political programme Question Time next week.

The show is being broadcast on the evening of Thursday February 19, with the recording taking place earlier that evening.

TV legend David Dimbleby will host a prestigious panel of guests including Conservative and former Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Michael Heseltine; Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon; Shadow Energy Secretary, Caroline Flint; and local entrepreneur and star of Dragons Den, Duncan Bannatyne.

They will be debating key issues as the countdown to the forthcoming general election gets underway in earnest.

Teesside High School students are particularly excited as the director of the programme have offered a limited number of students the opportunity to see the inside workings of the programme, with a guided tour of the mobile studio..

A further selection of students have been invited to form the panel and audience at the pre-recorded rehearsal.

"We are thrilled that the BBC have selected our school for their Teesside broadcast, it represents the culmination of many hours of hard work on this project by our staff. It is a wonderful opportunity for our students and the local community. I am also delighted that students from other local secondary schools have accepted our invitation to experience the tour of the facilities and the thrill of the pre-recorded rehearsal", said Mr Andrew Wilson, head of Teesside High School.

Anyone wishing to apply for tickets should do so through the BBC website.
