VISITORS are being invited to meet creatures that creep, crawl and slither, as RSPB Saltholme rounds off a week of Halloween fun.

The nature reserve, near Stockton, has organised the activity-packed event this weekend (November 1 and 2) and hopes to prove to everyone there’s no need to worry about the things that go bump in the night.

Marketing officer, Lydia Tague, said: “We’ve been having a fantastic week full of fun with our hibernation trail out on the reserve and showing visitors how to make a ‘house for a mouse’ in the visitor centre.

“But the highlight of the week will come this weekend when we’ll be welcoming back storyteller, Chris Connaughton. Scales and Tails will also be back with their fantastic workshops where you’ll have chance to come face to face with – and learn more about - the creatures that go bump in the night.”

The reserve is open from 10am until 4pm. Children’s activity passes are £6 or £4.50 for RSPB members. Reserve entrance is free for RSPB members or £4 per car for non-members.
