FOOTBALLERS are encouraged to pull on their boots and raise money for charity.

Xercise4less is holding a five-a-side tournament to raise money for the Butterwick Hospice and the charity's mascot Bea dropped in to the Stockton gym to get her fitness levels up.

Event organiser Stephen Downey said: "So far we have around ten teams showing an interest in taking part but we are on the look out for more teams to take part in the event. It's for a great cause, so we are hoping to persuade lots of people to play in the tournament.

"We are hoping that Bea coming down to show her support will increase interest in people wanting to take part in the five-a-side fundraiser."

The tournament is due to take place on Saturday, December 6 at the Powerleague (CORR) Centre in Stockton.
