VINTAGE clothing fans can plunder the wardrobes of yesteryear at an upcoming Chic Vintique fair.

There will be 40 stalls selling retro fashion, jewellery, homewares, collectables and gifts on Saturday (July 12), from a marquee in Stockton’s Parish Gardens from 10am to 4pm.

Organised by Stockton Council and BR Events, Chic Vintique, which has free entry, is part of a programme of specialist markets designed to attract visitors and shoppers to the town centre.

Entertainment will be provided by local blues singer, Emma Wilson, and there will be a wide range of homemade refreshments available to buy from Alice’s Vintage Kitchen Tea Room.

Councillor Mike Smith, Stockton Council's cabinet member for regeneration and transport, said: “There really is something for everyone and it’s a perfect opportunity to visit Stockton’s growing range of independent shops and the traditional market too.

“This is the latest specialist market the council has brought to the town centre this year but there are many more planned for the rest of 2014, with something to suit every taste.”
