MOTORCYCLISTS who spent the Easter weekend getting on their bikes to take Easter eggs to elderly people have also spread little cheer to children on a hospital ward.

As previously reported in The Northern Echo, about 30 members of The Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group delivered 700 Easter eggs to elderly people in Teesside on Sunday.

But the group found they had about 40 eggs left over so group founder, Brian Laverick, his wife Carole and fellow motorcyclist Gill Kingston paid a visit to the children’s ward at The University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton.

Mr Laverick said: “Due to the generosity of our supporters we had these Easter eggs left over so I rang the Children's ward at North Tees Hospital. They were highly delighted when I asked them if they wanted forty eggs for the kids. It was great to meet the team that look after the Children's Ward.”
