A WOMAN is in a stable condition in hospital after she was involved in a serious crash.

The Great North Air Ambulance Trauma Team responded to a collision between two vehicles on the A173 between Newton-under-Roseberry and Guisborough.

The collision happened at around 6.20pm on Thursday, December 7 and involved a silver Renault Megane and a blue Ford Mondeo.

The 31-year-old woman driver of the Megane suffered a fractured leg, bruising and head injuries.

She remains in James Cook University Hospital in a stable condition.

The 33-year-old male driver of the Ford Mondeo suffered a broken collar bone and was treated as hospital before being released.
