CIGARETTES and tobacco worth £2,000 were stolen when a service station was burgled.
Two offenders broke into Hinderwell Service Station in the village of Hinderwell, near Runswick Bay, by smashing one of the large front windows.
At around 11.45pm on Monday, October 2, a vehicle was seen approaching the service station from the Coronation Avenue area and parking on Browns Terrace.
The same vehicle was then seen travelling on the A174 towards Whitby.
Police are trying to identify the vehicle, which has distinctive headlights and five spoke alloy wheels.
Anyone with information should contact police on 101.
