DON’T see how building yet another bypass round Darlington creates more jobs. Apart from rush hour existing bypass is fairly quiet. Another waste of taxpayers’ money in my opinion.

YET again the council gets it wrong, Cockerton area needs a bypass to remove traffic from West Auckland Road areas.

NEVER mind a northern bypass, how about a northbound access road from the A66M to the A1? Has anyone assessed the number of lorries that come from the A167 (Northallerton road) and pass through Carmel Road north and West Auckland Road to get to the A1?

Mark Wilkinson

IT’S about time they did this. But also need a flyover at Morton Palms to alleviate traffic congestion at the roundabout. A new exit from Morrisons onto the bypass would be a good idea too.

Beryl Mary Owens

I COULD never understand why they didn’t put an entrance and exit onto the road on the same side as the brick train. It would alleviate traffic at the roundabout at peak times!

Craig Pollock

OR they could just build a junction at A66(M) so you can leave that junction going south rather than just north and join north rather than just south. No need to build a bloody big road.

Steve Mason

IS Bill Dixon having a laugh? With all the development at West Park and Faverdale over the last 15 years and with another 1,000 plus more houses planned it must join the A1 at junction 58. Bill has obviously never tried to get from West Auckland Road to Teesside to start work at 8.30am. Has he never witnessed the bottleneck at Cockerton? I hope the local Faverdale councillors will protest very loudly!

WHY not finish the inner ring road, to help congestion in town centre.
