A FORMER newspaper librarian has published her second novel.
Sue Curran’s book Kyla’s Place is set in Saltburn, east Cleveland, and explores the intricacies of family relationships and how important a sense of belonging is in forming who we are.
The author, who was born in Middlesbrough, but now lives in Cork, Ireland, wrote her first novel, The Way of Life, in 2009 and it was published four years later.
A mother of three, she has worked full-time as an office manager and was also a librarian at the Evening Gazette, in Middlesbrough.
She said of her new book: “Saltburn felt like the right place for Kyla, the book’s main character, to live and work out her place in life.
“I just love the town, the cliffs and the glorious beach. I always pay a visit whenever I’m back in the area.”
