TWO teenagers have been arrested after police raided a suspected crack house near Middlesbrough.

Neighbourhood police officers recovered 49 suspected crack cocaine rocks and a "substantial" amount of cash from a Grangetown address this morning.

Working on intelligence from the local community, officers executed a drugs warrant at the house on Eastcroft Road at 9am today, Friday.

A 16-year-old male and 17-year-old female have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and are in police custody.

Inspector Darren Bainbridge from South Bank’s neighbourhood policing team said: “Intelligence from members of the public is vital in removing Class A drugs from the streets of Cleveland and bringing to justice those suspected of being responsible for drug dealing.

“I would encourage anyone who believes that drug dealing is taking place in their area to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101."
