PEOPLE are being invited to Kick off the Summer in style over the Bank Holiday weekend by taking part in a host of fun activities.
The Friends of Redcar (FRED) and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council are calling on everyone to celebrate summer with four days of fun including children’s entertainment, expert sand sculpting and a continental market at this year’s Kick off the Summer running 10am – 4pm on all four days.
Olwyn Young, chairman of FRED, said: “We’ve got a great line up for this year’s Kick off the Summer. Giant sand sculptures based on movies inspired by the ocean, a kick-volleyball tournament, children’s fun including balloon modelling and face painting, a continental and craft market, beach games like crazy golf and the one I’m looking forward to the most, a lemon top relay! There’s something for everyone at Kick off the Summer.”
Based at the grassed area in front of Tuned In!, the sand sculptures will be made from 100 tonnes of sand and be an impressive 2.5 metres tall. There will also be fun family workshops, a bar and food available. To find out more at www.facebook.com/kickoffthesummerFRED
