A MAN has pleaded guilty to downloading an indecent video of children as young as one-years-old, as well as seven other offensive images.

David Burton, of Jackson Street, Brotton, near Saltburn, admitted to two counts of possessing pictures and a 23-minute video of indecent content that featured very young children.

Teesside Magistrates’ Court heard that Burton had downloaded two grossly offensive category A photographs – including the video – between May 2007 and January 2017.

The 52-year-old admitted to possessing six category B incident pictures involved children during a five-minute hearing on Wednesday morning.

Burton, who wore a black suit in court, spoke only to confirm his name, age and address to the magistrates.

Lynne Dalton, prosecuting, said: “Cleveland Police received information that indecent images of children had been accessed at the Jackson Street property.

“A search warrant was executed and several devices were seized and forensically examined.”

She added: “The most serious being a category A – a compilation video that lasted 23 minutes, 53 seconds, involving children as young as the age of one.

“It’s fair to say that Mr Burton is a gentleman of previous good character.”

Burton’s solicitor requested a pre-sentence report be produced ahead of the 52-year-old’s next court appearance.

The magistrates agreed that Burton will be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court on a date and time to be confirmed.

Burton was granted unconditional bail.
