A RING of “huge sentimental value” and a car were stolen during a burglary earlier this week.

Burglars targeted a property on Pontac Road in New Marske, near Redcar at around 4.20am on Tuesday, April 11.

A white Ford Kuga with a 66 registration plate was stolen along with a ring police say has huge sentimental value to the victim.

The ring is a gold band with a sunken diamond at its centre and smaller diamonds on either side.

Police are hoping to trace a man believed to have been jogging in the area at the time of the burglary.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said: “Police would ask this man to come forward and speak to them as he may be able to assist with enquiries.”
