A MAN who admitted possessing dozens of indecent photos of children was told by a judge the offences nearly always carry a jail sentence.
Peter Collins, of Pease Court, Lingdale, east Cleveland, admitted three charges of making indecent photos, 159 in total, dating up to March last year.
He also admitted a single charge of distributing indecent photographs of children.
A psychiatric report and a pre-sentence report were requested on 53-year-old Collins, who was bailed and will be sentenced on April 7.
Judge Sean Morris, sitting at Teesside Crown Court, told Collins: “Don’t read into the fact that I am adjourning for reports any indication of sentence.
“That will be up to the judge on the day. These cases nearly always carry a custodial sentence.”
