PEOPLE are being invited to inspect the plans for a new Walled Garden and Catering Academy planned for the Kirkleatham Estate.
A special drop-in session will be hosted tomorrow between 3.30pm – 6pm, in the estate’s educational suite, near Redcar, where members of the public can view the most up-to-date designs, speak with council officers about the next stages of the planning process and offer their views on the scheme.
Councillor Dale Quigley, cabinet member for economic growth at Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, urged people to get involved.
He added: “The Walled Garden will increase the numbers of visitors enjoying the estate and the Catering Academy and horticulture site will play a major role in providing training for our young people. We anticipate the project will create more than 100 training places and a further 40 jobs.”
The development is funded by £1.1 million from the Coastal Communities Fund with a further £2.4 million being bid from the Local Growth Fund.
