A DISORDERLY pub customer was carrying street weapons in his pocket when police were summoned and arrested him, a court heard.

Jonathon Joseph Robinson was reported for shouting and swearing at staff at The Livery, in the High Street, Redcar, at 3.20pm on Saturday September 10.

Durham Crown Court was told that he was searched and found to have a lock knife and knuckle-duster in his pocket.

Andrew Finlay, prosecuting, said there was no suggestion either were produced in the pub.

Robinson told police he wanted to get arrested because he felt he needed to go back under the supervision of a probation officer who previously assisted him, as he had begun drinking again and had lost his job.

The 29-year-old bin worker, of Barsford Crescent, Middlesbrough, admitted carrying an offensive weapon.

Imposing a 20-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, Judge Christopher Prince ordered Robinson to undergo 30-days rehabilitation activity work with the Probation Service.
