A WOMAN and her German Shepherd dog were both injured after being attacked by a Staffordshire Terrier in Redcar.

Police are appealing for information after the incident along Redcar Stray, opposite Green Lane, on Sunday (January 15).

A couple were walking their German Shepherd when three males approached with the Staffordshire Terrier, which was off its lead.

It attacked the German Shepherd and the female owner as she tried to protect her pet.

As a result, the German Shepherd suffered injuries to its rear legs while the woman hurt her lower left leg.

It is believed the three men and the Staffordshire Terrier drove off in a green coloured VW Golf.

The incident happened between noon and 1pm.
