DETECTIVES are hunting a pair of armed robbers stole a substantial amount of money when they targeted a cash delivery van.

Cleveland Police were called to the robbery at around 12.30pm on Monday on Trimdon Avenue shops in Middlesbrough.

Two men made off from the scene in a silver Peugeot Partner panel van, which was later found abandoned at The Oval in Middlesbrough.

A substantial amount of cash was stolen and officers are working to identify the two males responsible.

Detectives would appeal to any witnesses who may have seen the silver Peugeot Partner panel van in the area of Trimdon Avenue shops this morning or in the area of The Oval this afternoon.
