THE Police Interceptors are making the move from television monitors to merchandise by launching their own charitable calendar for 2017.

Familiar faces from Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit (CDSOU) will feature as part of the calendar – alongside honorary Interceptor, PC Gnome.

The large garden gnome was found by officers attending an incident during the final episode of the show which aired earlier this month.

Memorable scenes from the third Channel 5 series following the CDSOU’s day-to-day are set to mark each month of the year, with all proceeds from the calendar’s sales being donated to charity.

Inspector Ed Turner, of the CDSOU, said: “Being able to showcase the work of our officers in the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit has meant that we have been able to show people what we deal with day in and day out.

“The show has been hugely popular and we’ve seen some real support for our officers from local people and especially from young children, some of whom are now budding police officers.”

CDSOU’s Sergeant Kev Salter, Sergeant Paul “Mustard” Faulkner, PC Mike “Spike” Fisher and PC Lee Wilson will also appear as part of Middlesbrough’s Christmas lights switch-on in the Centre Square on Sunday, November 27.

Inspector Turner added: “Finally, I’d like to say thank you to everyone that has supported us by watching the show, coming to see us at various events and by joining in with the conversation on social media during the programmes each week.”

The 2017 Police Interceptors calendar will be on sale during Middlesbrough’s Christmas lights switch-on and at another Interceptors event on Saturday, December 3, in Palace Green, Durham.
