A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital this afternoon after being seriously injured in an accident involving a car.
The 41-year-old suffered severe head injuries and was flown by the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, in seven minutes.
The collision happened on the A171 at Birk Brow, near Guisborough, and the man was anaesthetised at the scene.
On arrival at hospital he was admitted to a specialist unit and his condition was described as stable.
