A CHILD was treated by air ambulance medics before being rushed to hospital with serious head injuries.

The Great North Air Ambulance (GNAA) was called out to help road ambulance crews in Eston, Middlesbrough, at 11.21am this morning.

The doctor-led trauma team treated the child for head injuries before the patient was taken to James Cook University Hospital by road ambulance.

The child arrived at hospital in a serious but stable condition.
