A SEVEN-strong team has been recruited to help run Saltburn's Cliff Lift this summer.
Former SSI worker Andrew Savage joins, along with another six, on Redcar & Cleveland Council's payroll, for the summer season.
The Cliff Lift has extended its opening hours for the season, meaning it will be open from 11am until 6pm.
Mr Savage, team leader at Saltburn Cliff Lift, said: “It’s an absolutely fantastic job and all the team are working well together. It has been busy since we opened at Easter and I’ve met so many people.”
The water-balancing tramway officially opened back up to the public on Friday, March 25.
It has been in operation since 1884 and is believed to be one of the oldest working funicular tramways in the world.
