TEESSIDE music organisation Musinc is offering grants to help young people get involved in music.
The Ignition Fund is open to groups and schools in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Hartlepool and Redcar & Cleveland, offering grants of up to £750 for projects that involve young people in music making activities.
Recent projects have seen young people playing steel pans in Brambles Farm, samba drums at Corpus Christi school and creating songs and soundtracks for the Skinningrove Bonfire and Middlesbrough myplace.
Gwyneth Lamb, Development Officer at musinc, said: “We know that young people can bring about positive change in their lives by getting involved in music.
“We want to hear from any youth group or school who have ideas they want to try out.
“We want to reach those young people most in need, who might be facing challenges in their lives.”
The Ignition Fund supports activity for young people age ten and older living in the Teesside area. Information about the fund can be found on the musinc website musinc.org.uk or contact musinc@middlesbrough.gov.uk
