FEARS have been raised that a grandmother from Redcar could be next in line for an Indonesian firing squad.
Two British death row inmates, including Lindsay Sandiford, are expected to be among the next batch of prisoners executed.
Police in Java said several firing squads have been set up in final preparations for a fresh wave of executions of drug smugglers. But they declined to say how many inmates were being executed.
Muhammed Prasetyo, Indonesia's attorney general, said last month that the next round of executions would be carried out "soon" and that inmates would include some foreigners.
The executions are expected to take place from June onwards.
Last April 14 convicts were executed, including two Australians.
Ms Sandiford, who grew up in Redcar but was living in Cheltenham, was caught trying to smuggle cocaine from Bangkok to the Indonesian island of Bali.
