MUSIC fans are in for a treat this weekend when a Ska Festival takes over a seaside town.

And Terry Hall, the iconic frontman of The Specials will be doing a DJ set as part of the charity fundraising music festival.

The event, which sold out in February, is being held in The Coatham Memorial Hall Redcar in aid of Specialized Project and aims to raise as much money as possible to donate to Teenage Cancer Trust and Youth Music UK.

One of the event's organisers, Mark Simpson said: "We have been overwhelmed with the generosity from businesses and general public donating raffle prizes and helping in any way possible. The warmth and generosity of Redcar town has been amazing.

"We hope everyone attending has great time with people travelling from Scotland, Wales, Gloucestershire, the Midlands and Suffolk, filling all the local hotels.

"A massive thank you to the managing director of The Specialized Project, Paul Williams, for helping to organise such a great event in Redcar Town Centre and long may it continue.

"With bands and Djs coming from all four corners of The UK, New York and Paris, it's promising to be a fantastic weekend in the town."

Band performing over the weekend include Paris-based Vin Gordon and The Real Rock Band, King Hammond and The Rude Boy Mafia, The Toasters from New York, Beat Goes Bang, and The Talks.
