A MOTORIST aged 20 has denied causing the death of a talented young footballer by dangerous driving.
Josh Butters, from Redcar, East Cleveland, appeared in court in connection with the death of Jordan Dowson last year.
Mr Butters was driving a Vauxhall Corsa on the A174 Brotton bypass when it was involved in a three-car collision.
Jordan, 19, from nearby Guisborough, was in a Corsa and died at the scene on February 7.
Mr Butters will face a trial - expected to last three days - which is scheduled to start on August 10.
Judge Simon Bourne-Arton QC, the Recorder of Middlesbrough, bailed Butters, of Atholl Grove, Redcar, until the trial.
Four people who were also involved in the crash were treated for injuries.
