A MARRIED father who flashed at young girls dodged jail and walked into the arms of his family who are standing by him.

David Jameson, 55, still denies the offences after being found guilty of three charges of exposure after a trial in February.

The workshop manager, from Guisborough, east Cleveland, was given a 15-month suspended prison sentence with probation supervision.

He winked at his wife in the public gallery when his punishment was announced by Judge Peter Bowers at Teesside Crown Court.

The court had heard that the couple will celebrate their silver wedding anniversary soon - but have suffered after his conviction.

Mrs Jameson was a registered child-minder but has had to give it up because her husband is not allowed to be near children.

Yvonne Taylor, mitigating, said there was "a tight family unit" including their two daughters, but finances were strained.

Miss Taylor produced what she described as "some of the best references I've ever seen" from colleagues, employers and friends.

She told Judge Bowers: "He maintains he has not committed the offences as alleged. Clearly, Mr Jameson was convicted by a jury.

"This leads the author of the pre-sentence report to conclude he presents a high risk of harm and is not amenable to change.

"His employers have stood by him, and they will continue to do so . . . he might be able to go out and work in Canada in the future."

Father-of-two Jameson, of Enfield Chase, Guisborough, was found guilty of three charges of exposure and one of sexual assault.

Judge Bowers described his testimonials as "extraordinarily good" and "amazing", and said he could only just suspend the sentence.

"The seriousness and gravity of the offence lies not so in what a person does to a child, but the ongoing psychological effect."
