WALKERS are being encouraged to add a splash of colour and rhythm to a charity walk which boasts a Hawaiian theme.

Those taking part in the Starlight Stroll will be able to walk, dance, hula and limbo their way along the seven mile course from Redcar to Marske and back again on Saturday, June 27 in aid of Teesside Hospice.

Debbie Coulson, fundraising manager, said: “It would not be possible without the generous support of Redcar and Cleveland Council to put on this huge local event so I’d like to personally thank them for their continued support.

"We are so excited for this year’s Starlight Stroll. We have a fun new theme – Hawaiian Luau party – so we’re hoping for an even bigger turnout than 2014.”

Cllr Mary Ovens, Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s cabinet member of health and social wellbeing, said: “We are thrilled to be sponsoring this year’s Seaside Starlight Stroll which will raise such vital funds for Teesside Hospice. It is so important to give back to the hospice which does so much for our community.”

People are being encouraged to make the most of this year’s early bird offer and pay just £10 to register, instead of £15, before April 20.

To sign up visit www.starlightstroll.co.uk or call 01642 811145.

On the day, registration is from 8pm at Redcar and Cleveland College. The walk starts at 10pm.
