A PENSIONER suffered minor injuries when his car was involved in a collision with a police car responding to an emergency.

The 79-year-old was driving a silver Ford Fiesta on Cargo Fleet Lane, Middlesbrough at around 11pm last night (Wednesday, February 11) when it collided with the marked police cars which had its blue lights flashing.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, from the Ormesby area, suffered minor injuries and the two male police officers travelling in the police vehicle also suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses are asked to contact Acting Sergeant Darren Cawthorne from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 23922.
