PERFORMING arts students at East Durham College are busy putting the final touches to this year’s pantomime, Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood.

This year the pantomime has been organised by foundation degree students at the Peterlee campus and will see them perform a gruelling seven shows over three days.

The students have been through rigorous rehearsals and can’t wait to get out on the stage and put on a fantastic performance for their audiences.

Cast member Craig Nunn, 19, from Sunderland, said: “We are all really excited ahead of the pantomime performances at the end of the month.

“We worked really hard to get the idea and the show together before Christmas and now we are just working on the final tweaks and our final rehearsals ahead of the opening night next Wednesday.

“We know that it is going to be really demanding, putting on seven two hour shows in such a short space of time, but we are all ready and up for the challenge of putting on a great performance.”

Performing Arts Programme Leader, Amanda Gregory, added: “We are expecting another great pantomime this year from our foundation degree students.

“They have all worked really hard to get this up to a top level standard and they have a great energy and enthusiasm to go out there and put on some brilliant performances for the public.”

The show will take place at the College’s Lubetkin Theatre, at the Peterlee Campus, from Wednesday January 21 to Friday January 23.

There are a number of tickets still left for the Wednesday and Friday evening (7pm) shows.

Tickets cost £7 per person and are available to be reserved by calling into East Durham College’s Peterlee Campus or by calling 0191-518-2000.
