A REDCAR photographer will be showcasing his rapidly expanding portfolio of stunning landscape shots at his home town museum.

Tony Robinson, who turned his hobby into a full time career after being made redundant from his job of 32 years, will be displaying his works in Kirkleatham Museum.

Running from Saturday until January 11, the exhibit will give members of the public a chance to see why the photographer was awarded a Licentiateship for the high quality of his pictures by the Royal Photographic Society, thanks to his use of natural light to illuminate the landscape.

Councillor Steven Goldswain, Redcar & Cleveland Council's cabinet member for community safety, said: “Tony’s pictures – especially those taken at sunrise and sunset – really give a perspective on the landscape that isn’t often seen by members of the public.”

The coming exhibit will be a first for Mr Robinson, who has seen works published in magazines and newspapers – as well as displayed in local businesses – but has never had a museum show until now.

It also marks another step on a continuing learning experience for the photographer, who believes the art of photography is an ongoing process with numerous opportunities to learn new skills.

Kirkleatham Museum is open from 10am till 4pm, Tuesday-Sunday with admission to the exhibit free for all visitors.
